Hideo Higashibaba, creator and host
Hideo Higashibaba is an independent producer and writer based in Durham, North Carolina. He spends most of his time with his dog Stanley and enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading as many science fiction and fantasy novels as he can find. He loves stories and jokes and is probably telling one or the other at any given moment.
In a past life Hideo was the on-air afternoon host for National Public Radio affiliate WAER in Syracuse, New York where he reported on racial and income segregation and refugee resettlement. He has also contributed to WBEZ, WYSO andl online magazine Art21. Hideo graduated with B.A. in Political Economy from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. He has also worked in a taco truck, as a server at a restaurant, construction worker, nanny, landscaper, and house cleaner.
